CITASA celebrated its 1st Birthday party on the 8th November 2022 at which key industry stakeholders and members were present.
The event marks one year of Grant Clark, Head of CITASA, and his dynamic team, working towards the common goal of reducing CIT-related crime in South Africa.
The aim of the event was to bring together members and industry role players and stakeholders to foster collaboration and networking in the fight against crime. Among those who attended were leaders from Fidelity, EFS, G4S, iZiCash, SBV, Cash Connect, Revolute, the SAPS, the South African Reserve Bank, SABRIC, the banking industry, NCR, PSI, and more.
With such representation, this event was vital to unite the industry for the greater good. Attendees had a chance to discuss important issues at hand and network to form new industry relations. Guests were given the opportunity to visit the CITASA offices and were offered a walkthrough at which the CITASA team showcased their technology and practices to support members and assist in reducing CIT-related crime.
CITASA has a firm understanding that the scourge of CIT robberies cannot be tackled alone. Our association values collaboration and understands that it is the key to the success in fighting crime. This is why the event was a great opportunity to recognise those who have made valued contributions to tackling CIT related crime and have displayed a willingness to support our organisation’s efforts.
The SAPS and Hawks were honoured at the event with a Special Membership of the Association Award. To receive the award on behalf of the SAPS was Brigadier Mabuela, whom himself is dedicated to fighting crime in South Africa. We were honoured to have him attend our event as he imparted valuable knowledge to other attendees.
Grant Clark also handed a certificate to one of CITASA’s newest service recipients – Revolute. Wayne Phillips, CEO of Revolute, was there to receive the certificate among other members of his valuable team.
While honouring the recipients, Grant Clark said, “We welcome you to the association and look forward to collaborating further”.
Within CITASA’s maiden year, our association has proudly recruited 6 members, 4 service recipients and 5 collaborative partners. We are excited to grow from strength to strength and to recruit more industry partners to bolster our fight against cash-in-transit crime.
We’d like to thank everyone that attended our 1st Birthday event. All had a wonderful time and we are thrilled to continue the hard work together to make South Africa a safer place for everyone.
CITASA is proud to be an association that is dedicated to saving lives, supporting regulation and the safety of cash.
